CONTINENTAL In 1987 two large tyre manufacturers: the European leader – Continental and the American producer - General merged and formed Continental Tyre North America. The merger helped this company to expand and to increase its global sales and market share. Currently the OTR tyres are sold under two main brand names: General and Continental. Continental offers both more resistant radial tyres manufactured in the factory in the United States and the cross-ply tyres made in the Czech Republic. Nowadays, emphasis is put on radial technology and the company is planning to introduce high-performance tyres class E-4 and L-5.
